DECEMBER GAME PLAN - 12th GRADE

Early Decision and Early Application acceptance letters start to arrive.  Read the information they send you carefully to make sure you meet response and deposit deadlines.

Wrap up applications-  For your remaining applications, follow up with your recommendation writers and make sure they have all of the information they need.  Request that your transcripts are sent to the schools of your choice and also instruct that your SAT or ACT scores are sent as well.  Get everything in by the due date and keep copies of everything you submit.

Wrap up scholarship applications-  Many of the large merit scholarships have application deadlines in November and December.  If you are pursuing one of these scholarships, make sure you write outstanding essays, proof your application for errors, and meet the deadline.  Start practicing for interviews as soon as you are given an interview date.

Scholarship interviews may begin-  The large merit scholarships or private school “Scholarship Weekends” start to take place.  Practice for the interview by reviewing the most common interview questions.  Dress appropriately, practice good body language and become conversant on current events.

Study for final exams-  Don’t lose steam at this point in the journey.  Study hard and keep your grades high.  Your chosen school will want to see your final transcript.  By applying yourself now, you’ll be better prepared for your AP exams, if any, at the end of the year.
